Website Redesign Without Losing Google Rankings

Move an old website to a modern, fast stack without losing your Google rankings.

What’s included

  • Audit of current pages and rankings
  • New design and structure
  • 301 redirect map for every old URL
  • Post-launch Search Console monitoring

A redesign should build on what already works

An old website often has something valuable hidden inside it: pages that rank on Google, links from other sites and years of search history. A careless redesign can throw all of that away overnight. Old addresses stop working, visitors land on error pages and rankings slide.

Our website redesign service gives you a modern, faster website while protecting the search visibility you’ve already earned.

How we redesign without losing rankings

  • Full page inventory. We list every URL on your current site, along with its traffic, rankings and incoming links from Google Search Console and other tools.
  • Content audit. We decide what to keep, improve, merge or retire, based on data rather than guesswork.
  • URL map. Every old address is matched to its best new page.
  • 301 redirects. Permanent redirects send visitors and search engines from old pages to new ones, preserving most of their search value.
  • Technical checks before launch. Titles, descriptions, headings, structured data, sitemaps and robots settings, all reviewed on a staging site.
  • Post-launch monitoring. We watch Search Console for errors, missed redirects and ranking changes, and fix issues quickly.

Signs it’s time to redesign

  • The site looks dated or doesn’t work well on phones.
  • Pages load slowly and visitors leave quickly.
  • Your services have changed, but the website hasn’t.
  • Updating content is difficult or depends on one person.
  • Competitors’ websites make a much stronger first impression.

Common redesign mistakes we avoid

  • Changing every URL without redirects, which breaks links and wipes out rankings.
  • Deleting pages that bring traffic because they look old, without checking the data.
  • Launching without a staging review, so errors reach real visitors.
  • Forgetting the details: page titles, meta descriptions, image alt text, analytics and Search Console settings.
  • Blocking search engines by accident, for example by leaving a “noindex” setting from the test site switched on.

Each of these is easy to prevent with a checklist and a careful launch, and each is expensive to fix afterwards.

What you get

A modern design built around your customers, clean and fast code, a structure that supports SEO, and a safe migration plan with every redirect documented. We follow the same process for our own website, moving dozens of old pages to a new structure without losing their value.

Start with an audit

Not sure whether you need a full redesign? We can start with an audit of your current site’s speed, search performance and usability, and recommend the right next step. See our website design and development service for more on how we build.

Will our Google rankings drop after a redesign?

A small, short-term fluctuation is normal. Serious drops happen when pages are removed or moved without redirects. With a proper URL map, redirects and monitoring, most sites keep their rankings and often improve them.

Can you redesign our site on a different platform?

Yes. We regularly move sites from old HTML, outdated CMS versions or page builders to modern platforms, keeping content and search visibility intact.

Do we have to rewrite all our content?

Not necessarily. We audit your content, keep what performs well, improve what’s weak and remove what’s outdated.

How long should we monitor after launch?

We watch Google Search Console closely for the first few weeks after launch and fix any errors or missed redirects quickly.
